White Collar Defense and Investigations
We have broad experience successfully representing individuals, public officials, and companies in a variety of criminal matters in federal and state court, as well as in leading sensitive internal investigations and proactively assisting clients to ensure compliance with an ever-changing regulatory landscape. In addition to obtaining acquittals at trial, we have a record of successfully achieving prosecution declinations for corporate and individual clients in grand jury proceedings. We frequently represent clients in civil actions related to government investigations.
Defamation and Privacy
We are dedicated to protecting our clients’ reputations and have represented a variety of clients – including companies, public officials, business owners, media personalities and professional athletes – in First Amendment, defamation and privacy matters. Election Law
We handle an array of election law matters, including advising public officials on compliance issues. We have also successfully represented public officials in a variety of election-related matters, including primary election residency challenges and campaign finance investigations.
Civil Rights
We have a robust civil rights practice. We have tried dozens of cases in federal and state court, successfully prosecuted and defended numerous civil rights and tort actions, and obtained multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts for plaintiffs and the dismissal of claims for defendants. We are also committed to an active pro bono practice focusing on prisoner and civil rights issues, including as counsel through the Third Circuit Court of Appeals Pro Bono Program.
Appellate Litigation
Our team includes former law clerks from the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. We have extensive federal and state appellate experience, including drafting briefs and arguing before the Superior Court, Commonwealth Court, Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and Third Circuit Court of Appeals. We also represent clients in emergency appeals before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania involving specialized appellate procedures, including petitions for review, petitions for extraordinary jurisdiction, King’s Bench petitions, and direct appeals to the Supreme Court in grand jury matters.
